Recent Happenings in the DAV Chapter 81, Ashland, OH 44805
McGraw-Hill Distribution Center Of Ashland, OH has donated 20 blankets and 43 pairs of socks to veterans' in nursing homes. The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 81 much appreciates the donation and will deliver this much needed donation to the appropriate veterans. The McGraw-Hill Companies opened their 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Ashland, Ohio. The building includes 19,544 square feet of office space and 582,834 square feet of open warehouse space. The facility was completed in September 2001.
THE FOLLOWING GOOD PEOPLE DONATED FUNDS TO HELP CHAPTER 81 BETTER SERVE VETERANS IN ASHLAND COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS ESPECIALLY THE VETERANS HOME IN SANDUSKY, OHIO.

On Veterans Day, November 11, members of the DAV Chapter 81spent the entire day at Applebee's affixing stickers to veterans to assist the various servers at Applebee's in identifying veterans eligible for the "FREE" dinner so graciously supplied by the Applebee franchises. These same members also distributed applications for inclusion in the Disabled American Veteran Chapter 81. These brochures also contained a car flag decal. a bookmarker with information about the American Flag and information about contacting the local DAV Chapter 81 organization.
1. $300 to the Sandusky Veterans home to help defray costs associated for their annual Christmas party.
2. $300 to the Associated Charities for Veterans
3. Purchased eight $50 dollar gift cards from Hawkins Market to help eligible veterans with food.
4. $150 to the Military Support Group.
Due to the generosity of Roy Thompson members of the Ashland Ohio Chapter 81 enjoyed a great dinner at Jakes Steakhouse in Ashland July 17, 2012.
Many thanks to Roy for a very enjoyable meal and the camaraderie it produced.
